URL Decoder Online

Décoder les URL et valeurs de query string encodées en pourcentage.

What this Developer tool does

Décoder les URL et valeurs de query string encodées en pourcentage. It helps developers format, validate, encode, decode, inspect, generate, or debug small pieces of technical data.

URL Decoder helps with developer work directly in the browser. Use it for fast formatting, encoding, decoding, hashing, validation, and debugging tasks.

How to use URL Decoder

  1. Open the live tool at /tools/url-decoder.
  2. Paste the relevant code, token, JSON, CSV, URL, color, cron expression, regex pattern, or technical text into the input field.
  3. Run URL Decoder and check the generated result before using it in production work.

Best use cases for URL Decoder

  • Debug API responses, configuration snippets, tokens, and structured data.
  • Prepare clean output for documentation, tickets, tests, or code review.
  • Avoid opening heavy desktop tools for quick developer checks.

Examples and checks for URL Decoder

Example inputs

  • A query string copied from a browser address bar
  • A redirect or tracking parameter from an email link
  • A callback URL from an API error message

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Decoding a path value with query-string rules, so plus signs become spaces
  • Applying a second decode pass without checking for double encoding
  • Opening the decoded URL before reviewing where it points

Output checklist

  • Check the decoded value against what the source system stored
  • Confirm spaces, plus signs and slashes are what you expect
  • Re-encode it and verify you get the original string back

Query strings and redirect parameters routinely carry tokens, emails and session IDs, so trim them to the part you actually need before pasting.

URL Decoder inputs

Paste the relevant code, token, JSON, CSV, URL, color, cron expression, regex pattern, or technical text into the input field.

URL Decoder output

The result is formatted, validated, decoded, encoded, generated, or explained output ready to copy into a development workflow.

Review before publishing

Do not paste production secrets, private keys, or sensitive credentials into any online utility unless you understand the risk.

Frequently asked questions

Is URL Decoder free to use?
Yes. URL Decoder is available on the free plan with 20 daily runs. Paid plans add higher quotas for repeat work.
Why do spaces appear as %20 in a URL?
Spaces are not legal inside a URL, so they are percent-encoded as %20, or as a plus sign within a query string. Decoding returns them to readable spaces, which is what most query-string parsers do server side.
Why did decoding once leave more percent signs behind?
The value was double-encoded, which normally means something encoded an already-encoded string — a common bug when a redirect target passes through two layers. Fix it at the source rather than decoding repeatedly by hand.
Is + the same as %20?
Only in query strings: form-style encoding treats + as a space, but in the path portion a + is a literal plus sign. Mixing the two rules is a frequent cause of broken links.
Does opening the decoded URL send a request?
No. Decoding only rewrites characters, so nothing is fetched and the result is still untrusted input. Inspect it before pasting it into a browser or feeding it to a redirect parameter.
