Extract a Single Page from a PDF

Sending one page from a fifty-page report is normal practice, and the result should be a new file that contains only that page. Splitting does exactly that and leaves the original untouched.

Extract or remove?

Extracting keeps the pages you choose and discards the rest, which is what you want when sending a single page. Removing does the opposite: it keeps everything except the pages you name. Choosing the wrong one produces either a one-page file or a forty-nine-page file, so decide before running it.

Page numbers are the part that goes wrong

A PDF viewer numbers the pages of the file, but the number printed in the footer can be different, especially in reports that start with roman numerals. Use the viewer's numbering, then open the extracted page and check that it is the one you meant.

Frequently asked questions

Can I extract a range of pages?
Yes. Enter a range such as 3-7, or separate single pages with commas when they are not next to each other.
Does splitting alter the original file?
No. The tool creates new output files and leaves the uploaded source unchanged.
The page I extracted shows a different number in the footer
Printed page labels are not renumbered by splitting. If the number matters, extract the range and adjust or cover the label afterwards.
