Convert Excel to a PDF That Fits the Page

Spreadsheets are designed to scroll; paper is not. The conversion itself is simple, and what takes care is deciding which columns and rows matter before the PDF is created.

Open Excel to PDF

Set the print area in the source file

Select the range you want to publish, set it as the print area, and switch on fit-to-page scaling in the spreadsheet software. The converter reproduces what the file asks for, so a sheet with no print area will spill across as many pages as the grid requires.

Wide sheets need a decision

If everything must fit, choose landscape, narrower margins, or simply hide the columns nobody needs in the report. Scaling a very wide sheet down to one page shrinks the text until it is unreadable, which defeats the point of sending it.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my spreadsheet split across many pages?
There was no print area or fit-to-page setting, so the entire grid was sent to the page. Both settings are made in the spreadsheet software before conversion.
Is spreadsheet conversion on the free plan?
Rendering spreadsheets is heavy, so this conversion runs on the paid plans; the free plan covers other document tools such as PDF splitting, merging and compression.
Can CSV files be converted as well?
Yes. CSV files are accepted and converted into a PDF table.
