  • Convert Text assets into Binary for publishing or sharing.
  • Prepare Binary output for imports, reports, CMS fields, or developer handoff.
  • Check how Text content changes before replacing the original file or data.

Examples and checks for Text to Binary

Example inputs

  • A short string you want to inspect at byte level
  • Output from a previous binary conversion to compare against
  • A UTF-8 sample with accents or emoji

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Pasting bytes with some leading zeros already trimmed
  • Mixing 8-bit and 7-bit ASCII output from different sources
  • Compressing binary digits into URLs without percent-encoding

Output checklist

  • Check every group is exactly eight digits
  • Confirm non-ASCII characters produced more than one group
  • Round-trip the result back to text and compare

Use test data where possible and avoid live credentials, private keys, passwords, or production tokens.

Frequently asked questions

Is Text to Binary free to use?
Yes. Text to Binary is available on the free plan with 20 daily runs. Paid plans add higher quotas for repeat work.
Why does each character need eight binary digits?
Because the text is encoded as UTF-8 first and each byte is shown as eight bits. ASCII characters fit in one byte, while accented letters, CJK characters and emoji take two to four, so they produce several groups each.
Is the output always space-separated?
Yes, bytes are separated so the boundaries stay readable in both directions. Remove the spaces and the digits run together into a single bit string that cannot be split back reliably.
Why does an emoji look like four groups?
That is UTF-8 at work. Emoji sit outside the basic multilingual plane and are encoded as a four-byte sequence, so the same character sent through a non-UTF-8 pipeline would produce entirely different bytes.
Can the binary be converted straight back to text?
Yes, with the matching decoder, provided every group is exactly eight digits and nothing was lost. Anything shorter is an incomplete byte and cannot be decoded back to a character.
