- An invoice or letter that carries your name
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the stamp as proof of identity
- Signing a draft that is still being edited
- Sharing a signed copy without keeping an unsigned original
Output checklist
- Check the name and date in the stamp
- Confirm it landed on the pages you selected
- Keep an unsigned copy for your own records
A typed stamp is not a verified signature, since anyone can add or remove one, so do not rely on it where the recipient needs assurance about who signed.

Frequently asked questions
- Is PDF Sign free to use?
- Yes. PDF Sign is available on the free plan with 20 daily runs. Paid plans add higher quotas for repeat work.
- Is this a legally binding digital signature?
- No - it draws a typed name and date onto the page as visible text. There is no certificate, no cryptographic signature and nothing that would reveal a later edit, so use a proper e-signature service where a signature has to be verifiable.
- Which pages get the signature?
- Your choice. Leave the page range empty to stamp every page, or enter a page number or range to sign only the pages that need it.
- Can the document be changed after I sign it?
- Yes - a visual stamp does not lock the file, and editing afterwards leaves the stamp sitting in place. Protect the signed copy with a password and keep an untouched version to compare against.
- What exactly appears in the stamp?
- The signer name and a date, drawn as two lines in the position you select. Check both before sharing, because the text is drawn into the page and cannot be edited out later.
