- Yes. Email and email are matched separately, so run the replacement twice or convert the case first when both spellings need changing.
- Can I use regular expressions or wildcards?
- No - it matches the exact characters you type, which is why a stray space is the usual reason a replacement does not fire. Reach for the regex tester when you need a pattern.
- How do I delete every match instead of replacing it?
- Leave the replacement empty. Each match is removed and the text closes up around the gap, and the tool reports how many replacements it made.
- Will it replace text inside longer words?
- Yes - searching cat also rewrites the cat inside category, because the match is literal. Include the surrounding space or punctuation when only whole words should change.
